The Piñon and Mount Blanca series was executed en plein air over a period of several years on the grounds of a Carmelite monastery in the San Luis Valley — the high desert of Southern Colorado, in different seasons at different times of day. Reminiscent of Monet’s haystack series, I attempted to capture the effect of the changing light on color with consistent subject matter. Please click on the thumbnails to see the full images.
